Super Eagles striker Simmy Nwankwo increased his tally for the season to 17 goals, when he scored against Cittadella at the Stadio Pier Cesare Tombolato on Friday.

 

Nwankwo who scored a hattrick for Crotone last weekend had a wonderful time on the pitch again and helped his club secured all the three points away from home.

 

Nwankwo’s strike partner Junior Messias also bagged a brace in the game in the 11th and 27th minutes, before the 28-year-old Nigerian wrapped up all three points with another goal in the 37th minutes

 

Substitute Giuseppe Panico scored a consolation for the home side in the 64th, but it appeared too late as Simy Nwankwo and his mates have already got the job done in the first.

 

The victory however strengthed Crotone’s chance of gaining promotion back to the Italian top-flight league again.

 

They are second on the log with 58 points from 33 matches with five games remaining in the campaign.
