Former Nigeria international and CHAN 2014 MVP, Ejike Chrisantus Uzoenyi has called on players of the national team to ensure they listen to coach Gernot Rohr as well as apply his tactics adequately on the field of play if they are to have any chance of success at the AFCON in Egypt.
Nigeria will be looking to prepare thoroughly as they look to win the tournament since 2013 when they lifted the trophy in South Africa.
In a chat with www.brila.net, Ejike Uzoenyi also added that he remains hopeful the team will progress from their group which also has Guinea and well as newcomers Madagascar and Burundi.
“They need to pay attention to the coaches, sometimes we think we know it all because of the situation we find ourselves”
“I urge them to listen to the coach when you pay attention to what the coaches are saying, it will help you go a long way”.
“I wish they listen and play to the coaches instructions, I assure you, something good is coming out of this team”
“Hopefully something good will come out of the team, anything is very possible and I believe they will pass through to the next phase of the tournament, am so hopeful”.
The Super Eagles are back to the tournament after missing out on the last two editions due to non-qualification, with many expectant in terms of silverware.
