Nigeria women Under-17 Coach Bala Nikyu, says the Flamingoes are well prepared to edge Ethiopia over two legs with a home win at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
Bala Nikyu’s side was held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Addis Ababa Stadium a fortnight ago.
The 6th FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals will hold in Uruguay from the 20th November – 13th December 2018.
An outright win or a goalless draw will see Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team advance to the next round of the competition where they will face the winner of the Cameroon/Algeria fixture in the second and final round of the qualifying series.
“We are much prepared even than we were for the first leg in Addis Ababa. Collectively, we have worked on the noted areas of weaknesses and we are good to go for Saturday in Benin,” Bala Nikyu told thenff.com.
Bala also noted that self-believe will see them through against their opponents, also pointing out that whoever fails to deliver on the part of the players will be asked to leave the team.
Meanwhile, Plateau United coach Kennedy Boboye has said he is pleased with his team’s improved display against the CHAN Eagles in an NPFL Invitational Tournament match-up in Kano.
The match ended in a goalless draw, but the NPFL champions Plateau United stepped up their game after a series of indifferent outings at the Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament also in Kano.
