National Wrestling coach Akuh Purity has expressed his delight for a sensational run through the first quarter of the year 2019 in wrestling after an impressive outing.
In the competitions attended from January which started with the German Grand Prix, February with the Bulgaria rankings tournament and finishing March with a triumph at the recently concluded Africa senior wrestling championship in Hammamet, Tunisia.
An excited Purity told www.brila.net shortly upon arrival from Tunisia Wednesday evening that things have gone so well so quickly into the year for them and that he is very grateful to God to have seen things work out so well for the national wrestling team.
“Actually I want to thank the Almighty God for this huge achievement, we quickly went back to training, watched out for our top opponents while preparing and we were able to meet up with our challenges.
So I really want to thank God for the success and so happy with the level of our performance.”
The Nigeria wrestling contingent won a Gold and a Bronze in the German Grand Prix of the three athletes that participated another two in February and Bulgaria before raking in 9 medals out of the ten athletes that participated at the just concluded Africa senior wrestling championship in Tunisia.
