2022 Awcon qualifiers: Onone Ebi expects good result against Ghana

Ahead of the African Women’s Championship qualifiers, veteran defender Onome Ebi has disclosed that the Nigeria’s Super Falcons are ready for battle against Ghana.

 

The Nine-time African champions will tackle their long-term rivals for a place in the African Women’s Championship, which serves as the qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

 

The fierce continental rivals will slug it out at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in the first leg of this fixture, while the second leg will hold in Accra on Sunday.

 

The winner of both ties will qualify for the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for Morocco in the summer of next year, where they will play for a place in the 2023 FIFA World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand.

 

“These are two battles that we must win.”The Minsk defenders said,

 

“We know that we have to start by winning well in Lagos on Wednesday and then go to Ghana and put up another big performance. We are not looking at this as home-and-away matches. We are looking at two matches that we must win.”

 

Already in Super Falcons camp are ; goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi, defenders Onome Ebi, Opeyemi Sunday, Ayomide Ojo, Oluwatosin Demehin, Akudo Ogbonna and Rafiat Imuran, midfielders Goodness Onyebuchi and Regina Otu, and forwards Vivian Ikechukwu and Gift Monday.
