Rangers, Rivers United win Rescheduled Matches

Enugu Rangers and Rivers United both won their scheduled NPFL matches by single goals against Plateau United and Remo Stars respectively Today.

Coming from a 2-0 away defeat to Sunshine Stars last weekend, Rangers returned to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday as they played their penultimate outstanding match; a rescheduled matchday 18 fixture.

 

A solitary goal from Daniel Etor settled the business in Enugu and also saw the NPFL champions move out of the relegation zone, but only barely.

They are tied on points with 17th placed Gombe United but have a superiors goals advantage.

In the on the match, Rivers United moved to 13th on the table, as they also complete their outstanding games.

 

United Midfielder, Bernard Ovoke scored on the 41st minute and his goal proved the decider against a stubborn Remo Stars.

 

Both Rangers and Rivers United represented Nigeria on the continent in the CAF Champions League and subsequently in the Confederation Cup.

And they were handed leaves by the LMC to wave off some games until a future date.

 

Stanley Eguma’s men played their matchday 14 rescheduled tie against the Abeokuta based club.

 

Rivers United are the NPFL‘s only surviving flag bearer on the continent.
