ANTHONY JOSHUA
Alexander Povetkin was dangerous at times Saturday night, but Anthony Joshua ultimately did what he has done to all but one professional opponent.
The hard-hitting British superstar dropped Povetkin twice in the seventh round and stopped him in the main event of a seven-bout card that drew an enormous crowd in excess of 80,000 to Wembley Stadium in London.
D’TIGRESS
The celebrations were still underway for Nigeria after their first-ever FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup win, when Sarah Ogoke promised it was only the beginning.
With the noise of her team-mates partying in the locker room behind her, the guard was in bullish mood after Nigeria’s landmark 74-68 victory over Turkey.
ENYIMBA
Enyimba FC have booked their place in the semi-final of the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup following a 5-1 second-leg win over Rayon Sports on Sunday in Aba.
There were five different goal scorers for Enyimba on the day as they equalled the total number of goals they scored in the group stage in one game.
Kelechi Iheanacho
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho netted his first goal in the Premier League this season for Leicester City against Huddersfield.
It was a poacher’s goal off a quick counter and he looks set to add to his tally as he has put behind him a difficult start to life with ‘The Foxes’.
MOSES SIMON
Super Eagles winger Moses Simon made his long-awaited Spanish La Liga debut for Levante in their 6-2 home loss to Sevilla after shrugging off his injury problem.
The Nigeria international came on for Jose Campana in the 73rd minute of the defeat. Simon had missed his side’s last five games due to injury.
