Nigeria U20 MNT head Coach, Daniel Bameyi insists the team had a great performance against Dominican Republic on Sunday.

Against the debutants, Nigeria came from behind to win 2-1 at the Estadio Malvinas Mendoza.

Edison Azcona put the Caribbean Country in front from the spot on 23 minutes, before Nigeria rallied to win the game courtesy of Guillermo de Pena’s own goal and Samson Lawal’s late strike.

“It was a great game from us, despite the fact that we made some mistakes,” He told BRL. “You can see the statistics, that’s how dominance we were.”

“The three points is important and that’s what we went for.”

Ladan Bosso’s side are second in Group B behind leaders Italy U20 who themselves defeated Brazil 3-2 in their opening match.

The Flying Eagles will slug it out with Italy U20 in their next game on Wednesday.
