Ese Brume clinched the gold medal in the women’s Long Jump event at the African Games with a stunning first-round jump of 6.92 meters, successfully defending her title from 2019.

Making a remarkable international debut in the Long Jump event, Prestina Ochonogor secured the bronze medal with a leap of 6.67 meters.

Ochonogor’s achievement is particularly noteworthy considering her relatively low profile in the athletics world; she only surpassed the 6.00-meter mark earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Ruth Usoro narrowly missed out on a podium finish with her jump of 6.62 meters.
