AC Milan gaffer Stefano Pioli said Zaidu Sanusi and his teammates deserves huge credit for keeping his side quiet in their UEFA Champions League Group B game on Wednesday.
Zaidu was in action for Portuguese Side FC Porto in their 1-1 draw with the Milan giants at San Siro on Wednesday.
A defensive masterclass from the Super Eagles defender and his teammates reduced Milan’s attack led by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Portugal forward Rafael Leao to nothing in the thrilling contest.
While Porto went in front in the 6th minute, Milan needed a second half own goal from Chance Mbemba to earn them a point from the game they needed to win.
Speaking to the press, Pioli said Porto’s defense made life difficult for his team and believes they deserve credit for their performance.
“Porto deserve credit and we deserve blame. We should’ve shimmied and spread the Porto defence, instead we ended up going where they wanted us to.” He said.
Porto remain second on log with five points, one point ahead of third placed Atletico Madrid, while Milan remain at the bottom of the Group.
