Rivers United striker Godwin Aguda has stated that he believes he should be in the picture for a National team call on the current form if consideration will be given to players plying their trade in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Aguda speaking in a chat with brila.net said admittedly while the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has the final say on players invitation to the national team, he feels a bright start and a good run for him with his Rivers united team from December 2020 through January 2021 where he has scored 5 times in four games on the continent coupled with other two in the league puts him forward for such consideration ahead of next month’s National team engagements.
“The coach have every decision to take concerning the home-based but to me, I know for the call up this time we are really set to be invited this time. I’m good to go as one of the players that have been doing well this time in the NPFL considering my form since we started the league in December. I have been in the picture in goal scoring so if there is going to be called up for home-based players, I should be there.”
