Assistant coach of Nigeria’s women national basketball team and Dolphins Basketball club coach Peter Ahmedu has welcomed the decision of the Nigeria Basketball Federation to organise league basketball this 2021 in the bubble but has expressed doubt on the readiness to pull this through without specified timelines on plans and programs.
Ahmedu speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the communique issued by the NBBF on the decision to have the league played in the Bubble like the NBA have employed where teams, players, officials and venues will be isolated seems lovely but no specifics on timelines for clubs to have their arrangements sorted as well which makes the arrangements cumbersome even before it starts.
“We hope that the idea they brought will be utilized, the letter they brought does not specify any date so it doesn’t give us any clue.
They only said they are sorry for the situation they find themselves during the Covid and are hoping they are able to do a bubble which is a good idea but there should be a date specified.”
