Super Eagles and former Chelsea defender Olaoluwa Aina says Fulham is ready to take on premier league challengers Chelsea in Saturday’s London derby.
Aina and his mates are enjoying good form lately after the initial struggle to life in the premier league.
Fulham played out a 1 – 1 with Tottenham in the last game on Wednesday to extend their unbeaten run to five league matches.
The game is Aina’s first meeting with Chelsea since leaving the club for Torino three years.
The Super Eagles versatile full-back spent 11 years at Bridge but only a few appearances for the premier league giants.
“I will always have fond memories of Chelsea, I came through their academy and managed to play a few games with the first-team,” he said.
“I enjoyed every minute of my time there and I have lifetime friends there too. London derbies are always something to relish. As for me, it will be a little bit spiced because I will be playing my old club with my old teammates.
Aina who has made 13 league appearances for Fulham and scored one goal, is part of Fulham’s impressive defensive unit and he’s looking to another good display against his former side.
“I think they have been in fine form recently but we go into games to get the result. I feel the confidence of the manager and the coaching staff. Come on Saturday, it is going to be the same feeling for me and the team.
“We have got players who are ready to go, that has been the story of our season so far and I think we will prove a point on Saturday,” Aina told Fulham’s website.
