Calvin Bassey has impressed young Ajax defender Jorrel Hato after a solid performance against Blackburn Rovers.
Hato replaced Calvin Bassey during the friendly match with the English Championship side, and the 16-year-old couldn’t hide his admiration for the Nigerian.
“In the beginning, I was also a bit shy. Feeling comfortable in the group of players comes naturally, Hato told Ajax website.
“In training, I was also next to him as a left-back this week. Then you see how he does things. Defensively he is very strong.”
The Super Eagles defender lasted for 70th at the Marbella Football Center – Sur 1 as Ajax secured a 2-0 win over Blackburn.
Bassey has started nineteen games in all competitions, and scored one goal with two assists before the season was out on hold for thes World Cup in Qatar.
