Ajayi’s West Brom edges closer to the drop after Wolves draw

Semi Ajayi was in action for West Bromwich Albion in their 1-1 derby draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.

Ajayi featured from start to finish as West Brom came from behind to earn a draw at home to rivals Wolves but the solitary point edges them closer to the drop.

West Brom manager Sam Alladyce went with a back three with Dara O’Shea and Kyle Bartley joining Ajayi in the defence.

West Bromwich fell behind in the first half stoppage time when Portuguese youngter Fabio Silva’s deflected shot beat Sam Johnstone and went into the net.

Senegalese Mbaye Diane however scored a second-half header to cancelled out the advantage and earned the Baggies a point from the game.

The draw means Semi Ajayi and his teammates remain 19th on the and are 10 points from safety with four games to go.

West Brom will now take their survival battle to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal next Sunday.
