Ajayi’s West Bromwich Albion relegated from premier league

Semi Ajayi was on parade for West Bromwich Albion in their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

The Super Eagles defender played the entire duration of the match, on a day the Baggies got relegated back to the championship.

Ajayi and his teammates were second best against an Arsenal who themselves needed a victory to banish the memory recent bad results.

The Gunners took the lead when the excellent Bukayo Saka combined with Willian to set up Emile Smith Rowe who volleyed home in the 29th minute.

Arsenal doubled their advantage six minutes later when Nicolas Pepe cut inside from the right flank and curled a stunning effort beyond the outstretched Sam Johnstone.

Ajayi and his peers got themselves back into the game, after Matheus Pereira pulled a goal back from superb solo run from inside his own half.

Willian eventually made the result safe when he found the top corner with a brilliant free-kick in the 90th minute.

After the game Ajayi who  has scored two goals in 30 league appearances for the Baggies side this season was given the rating of 6/10.

The result mean West Brom have suffered their fifth relegation from the Premier League, the joint-most by a team alongside Norwich City.
