D’Tigress forward Evelyn Akhator has hailed her National team colleagues after the Nigeria women national team handed Cameroon a crushing defeat to finish as group winner.
Akhator speaking in a chat with brila.net said the Nigerian team showed desire to play Cameroon who knocked out Nigeria in the tournament 4 years ago at the semi final.
She also added that it was good to see Nigeria win by as much margin and credit the players for putting in so much hard work to get to this level of dominating teams in the competition so far.
“In 2015, Cameroon beat Nigeria and so we just have to set the tone early for them as well that we are not here to play neither are we here to joke.
So that was what we did and of course kudos to the team and the players. And we are also thankful to God for everything done so far.”
