Akpeyi completes move to Swallows FC

Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has found a new club after being unattached for almost eight months.

Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi signed with Swallows FC and it was confirmed that he out pen to paper for a six months deal.


Akpeyi is one of the new players that signed for the team after FIFA lifted ban transfer ban on the team.

Akpeyi, 36, became a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Kaizer Chiefs and was close to signing for Sekhukhune United but his deal eventually fell through.

The former Chippa United short stopper is entitled to a further two years extension at the end of the six months deal.

Swallows will be his third club in South Africa after he’s made 104 appearances for Chippa and 69 for Chiefs.
