TSG Hoffenheim manager, Pellegrino Matarazzo expects defender Kevin Akpoguma to be involved in this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig.
Akpoguma injured his nose and was withdrawn during Hoffenheim’s home defeat to FC Cologne last weekend.
The Nigerian international was visited specialist earlier this week, and the club received a positive news.
Matarazzo has, however, stated that centre-back is back in training and will be included in the matchday squad for the trip to Leipzig.
“Kevin Akpoguma is training with a mask after his nasal bone fracture from the game against FC Cologne and is, therefore, an option for the game,” Matarazzo was quoted by the club’s official website.
The 28-year-old available is a massive relief for Hoffenheim as they continue fight against relegation.
Hoffenheim are occupying the bottom of the table, seven points from safety.
The former German youth international has been involved 25 league appearances for Hoffenheim this season.
