Kevin Akpoguma will miss the return fixture of Nigeria’s African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Guinea Bissau.
Akpoguma started Friday’s encounter at the MKO Abiola Stadium and was having a good game, before sustaining a head injury that ended his participation.
The former German youth international had completed three successful tackles and commited one foul, before being replaced by Semi Ajayi in the 56th minute.
The Defender however wasn’t part of Saturday’s recovery and training session.
And in his absence, Ajayi is now expected to pair Calvin Bassey in the heart of the defence.
Since switching allegiance to Nigeria two years ago, the 27-year-old has won just four caps.
