Kada City suffered a heavy defeat to rejuvenated Akwa United at the God’swill Akpabio international Stadium, Uyo in one of match day 8 encounter of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Monday.
The Rafael Everton’s side led two nil at half time following Mfon Udoh’s opener in the 6th minute and Ndifreke Effiong’s tap in from close range twenty nine minutes later.
Kada City bossed possession in the first quarter of the second half but lacked the penetrating edge to split open the home side defense line and five minutes after the hour mark, Ndifreke Effiong completed his double following a poor pass from a Kada City defender to make it three .
Kada City’s best scoring opportunity of the match fell the path of Sadiq Suleiman but his left footed effort came off the woodwork.
Akwa United completed the rout over the visitors in the 71st minute when Wisdom Fernando perfectly shot beyond Sunday Okoh in goal for Kada City after making several goal bound saves for a well deserved victory.
After a slow start to the new season Akwa United are now unbeaten in the last three matches including two wins and a draw, they moved to fourth position on the Group B log with 11 points from 7 games.
