Akwa United’s slow start to the season is shocking – Ndah

Akwa United defender Olisa Ndah says he’s surprised by his side’s sloppy start to the league campaign.

One win from the opening six matches of the season leaves the team in the bottom half of the table.

Ndah, who has regained full fitness following an injury he sustained on Match-day 3 against Abia Warriors, said their position on the table is shocking.

“It’s difficult to believe that we have just six points from a possible 18. We are playing very well and creating lots of chances in all our matches but the major issue has been converting those chances.

“Our coach Kennedy Boboye has inspired all of us; and our team is such that any player in the field can score. So, I’m optimistic that the story will change this weekend,” He told his club’s media team.

The Promise Keepers will be aiming for their second victory of the season on Saturday against fifth placed Kano Pillars who have never won or drawn a match against Akwa United in Uyo.

In their previous eight meetings, Akwa United have won four and Kano Pillars two, while two of those encounters ended in stalemates.

Victory on Saturday will move Akwa United into the top half of the NPFL log.
