Algeria’s Coach aiming to keep impressive record against Super Eagles

Algeria head coach, Djamel Belmadi is not leaving anything to chance ahead of the friendly against Nigeria.

Belmadi hinted that the game is very important to his side and he’s not ready to field players who are yet to fit into the side.

Since the World Cup qualifiers disappointment, Algeria have won all their games including their opening two AFCON qualifiers without conceding a goal, and will fancy keeping that run going in Oran.

The Algerians will enter the September 27 friendly on the back of a narrow 1-0 victory against Guinea in another friendly match played, Friday.

“We took a lot of positives from the Guinea game, but Nigeria is a different game,” Belmadi told reporters.

“I will play with players who are used to playing with each other.”

In their last two meetings, Algeria haven’t lost to Nigeria – beating them in the 2019 African Cup Nations semifinal and friendly game played in 2011.
