Nigeria Football Federation Executive committee member Mohammed Alkali has backed the decision of the Confederation of Africa Football to cancel the 2020 edition of the Africa women cup of nations in the light of the Covid-19 situation which hasn’t yet fully come to an end.
Alkali speaking in a chat with brila.net said the cancellation had become imperative as nothing is on and there is NP way football could have been played under the current situation citing the importance of life above anything else.
He added that the decision to cancel is a good one considering a number of programs before the continent’s ruling body as well.
“I strongly believe with what CAF has said, even if CAF says the competition should go on, most of the country’s football activities have been suspended and without even playing football in the country how can you participate in the CAF nations cup. So I strongly believe and I am in line with what CAF has done.
