Super Eagles goalkeeper coach Alloy Agu has revealed the reasons for dropping Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa from the Eagles squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia.
Agu, in an exclusive chat with www.brila.net, explained that the two goalkeepers have not started competing very strongly in their various leagues due to the covid19 pandemic that has halted the South African and Nigerian league.
He also added that the crew wanted to look at the players whose leagues have been on for long and are competing favourably in their various clubs.
”You know the situation with all the teams or clubs in Africa, the game has not really picked up compare to Europe, so, that is just the rationality behind.”
Former World U17 Champion Dele Alampasu, Maduka Okoye and Matthew Yakubu were the three goalkeepers called up into the Super Eagles squad for the October friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia.
