Coach of Nigeria’s U23 national team Imama Amapakabo has stated that Nigeria was simply unfortunate to have ended without a point following the team’s 1-0 loss to Côte d’Ivoire in her opening game of the ongoing U23 AFCON in Egypt.
Amapakabo speaking in a chat gathered by brila.net said the match was indeed tough for both sides and wasn’t really shocked at that as first games in most competitions are always this tough buybacks his team to bounce back from the defeat.
“It was a difficult match for both teams, this is a competition that every team deserves to win of the eight teams that has come in this tournament.
It was definitely tough for both sides, first games like this in such competition are always very tough, we gave it our all, unfortunately, we lost the way that we have lost.”
