Former Super Eagles and Tanzania national team coach, Emmanuel Amunike has hailed the list of players announced for the Ukraine friendly game next month.
Amunike exclusively told brila.net that, the country should respect Odion Ighalo’s decision as he decides to step down from the National team and face club football.
The former Barca star said Nigeria should focus on the young lads on the block right now in the likes of Victor Osihmen and Samuel Chukwueze to carry the burden of the senior national team.
”If Ighalo has decided to step down, one issue we have in Africa is that we don’t respect people’s opinion, and we are always afraid of making mistakes.”
Amunike has backed Lille forward Victor Osimhen to replace the former Watford striker as the Super Eagles first-choice striker.
