Amusan, Brume lead Nigeria’s charge for Medals at Commonwealth games

Newly crowned World Champion, Tobi Amusan and long jump silver medalist Ese Brume are on their way to Birmingham for the 2022 Commonwealth games.

The Superstars are expected to join Athletes who competed at the World Champs in Oregon, to the United Kingdom for the games.

 

Some of the Athletes in Nigeria’s contingent are already in Birmingham for the games, arriving in the UK this past Sunday.

 

At the recently concluded World Athletics Championship in Oregon, Amusan shattered the 100m women’s hurdles world record, while Ese Brume picked the silver medal in the long jump event at the same tournament.

 

Both athletes are favorite to win their respective events at the Commonwealth games.

 

The 2022 Commonwealth Games begin on 28 July. The opening ceremony will be held on that day with sporting events getting underway the next day.
