Former captain of Nigeria’s most successful Football club Enyimba FC Ifeanyi Anaemena has stated that he is already relishing the key CAF Confederation cup fixture against his former side after his current Rivers united team booked a 5-0 aggregate win over South Africa’s Bloemfontein Celtics with a 3-0 return leg win over the weekend in Porto Novo.
Anaemena speaking in a chat with brila.net said the tie is no doubt an interesting one that will see him face the more illustrious Enyimba with a target to qualify and play in the group stage of the competition.
He added that Rivers will be the team to progress this time around at the expense of the People’s Elephant.
“It’s going to be an interesting game and I know it’s not going to be an easy one anyway because Enyimba is an experienced side when it comes to CAF.
I know they will do everything to qualify ahead of us, but I know we will triumph over them because the group stage is our target.”
