Rivers United arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Sunday from Rwanda where they sealed qualification into the group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup and despite the tough draw that lies ahead, Midfielder Nzube Anaezemba insists the club can fight for the cup.
Anaezemba told www.brila.net that Saturday’s game was “hectic” match despite the result.
United were reduce to 10-men in the 58th minute after defender, Ifeanyi Nweke was given his matching orders.
The NPFL club managed to secure a 0-0 draw at the Stade Régional de Nyamirambo to go through 2-0 on aggregate.
Speaking after the contingent arrived Lagos enroute Port Harcourt, the former Enyimba man maintains that the club is capable of playing for the trophy in a pool of 15 other teams that includes seeded TP Mazembe, CS Sfaxien, Zesco United and FUS Rabat.
