His appearance for France came after Spanish newspaper AS reported that Griezmann had agreed an improved new deal with Atletico.
Griezmann was top of Manchester United’s shopping list this summer but with Atletico’s transfer ban upheld the player opted to reaffirm his loyalty by taking a new offer at the club.
The 26-year-old penned a deal at the club three months ago which would see him stay until 2021, but it appears the La Liga outfit have now had to up his wages again to keep him in the Spanish capital this summer.
Griezmann has accepted the improved offer which was made to him three weeks ago when the club were inundated with offers from some of Europe’s elite — namely United.
