Aribo, Balogun feature as Rangers Stretch Unbeaten Run to 28 matches

Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun continued their impressive run for Glasgow Rangers in this season’s UEFA Europa league.

The Nigerian duo played important roles as the Gers defeated Lech Poznan 0 – 2 on Thursday to finish as Group D winners ahead of favorites Benfica.

Manager Steven Gerrard started both players in the game they needed a win to finish as winners of Group D.

Aribo lasted for the entire duration, while Balogun who help the team to another clean sheet was substituted with 10 minutes left to play.

Cedric Itten and Ianis Hagi scored both goals for Rangers in the 31st and 75th minute respectively.

The win means Rangers will avoid clubs dropping down from the Champions League in the next round, and also saw them pocket a £900,000 bonus for winning their group on top of £515,000 for qualifying.

Rangers remain unbeaten in 28 matches so far this season, winning 24 and drawing just 4.
