Aribo, Balogun help Rangers Extend SPL lead over Celtic

Super Eagles duo of Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun featured in Glasgow Rangers hard-fought victory over Kilmarnock in the Scottish premier league on Sunday.

While Aribo started the game and lasted for 62nd minutes , Leon Balogun was introduced for striker Alfredo Morelos with four minutes left to play.

The decision to introduce Balogun was to help keep things tight at the back and the Nigerian international didn’t disappoint as Rangers recorded their 15th clean sheet of the season.

James Tavernier’s 19th minute penalty proved to be the decider as Rangers snatched a narrow 1-0 victory.

The Gers has now won 11 of their 13 league matches so far, drawing just and yet to taste defeat this season.

Steven Gerrard’s side also opened a nine points gap over second placed Celtic, although the defending champions still have to game in hand.

Rangers next game is on November 8th and they’ll welcome Motherwell to the Ibrox.
