The duo of Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun helped Rangers to a 1 – 0 win over rival Celtic in the old Firm derby at the Ibrox on Saturday.
Leon Balogun was one of the two changes made by Rangers boss Steven Gerrard from the Rangers side that beat St Mirren 2-0 last time out.
The experience defender was preferred to Filip Helander in defence, while Aribo retained his place in midfield as well.
Rangers went into the match at the back of five consecutive defeat to Celtic at the Ibrox, but they just enough to end the bad run of results against the champions.
Rangers scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute, when James Tavernier delivered a perfect ball to Aribo and the Nigerian saw his header deflected off Callum McGregor into the back of the net.
Aribo was replaced by Glen Kamara in the 90th minutes of the encounter and Rangers held on for a win and preserve their unbeaten record in the league.
It is the first time that Rangers have gone unbeaten in their opening 22 top-flight games since the 1967/68 season.
Rangers are also 19 points clear above second place Celtics, with 57 goals scored, 5 conceded in 22 games.
