Aribo Delighted To Score First Scottish Premier League Goal For Rangers

Nigeria midfielder Joe Aribo is thrilled to score his first Scottish Premier League goal for Rangers in their 2-0 win over Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday.

The 23-year old opened the scoring for Rangers in the 32nd minute after he fired his left-footed shot into the top right corner.

The former Charlton Athletic midfielder who was making his 10th appearance in the encounter, however, shared his excitement after scoring his first goal for the Ibrox outfit in the Scottish top-flight.

“(I’m) Very happy. We just needed to come here, we knew it was going to be a difficult game and I’m delighted we managed to get the result.

“We needed to let the game settle down and by scoring that enabled us to get that and we needed just to go from there.

“I was really pleased (with the goal) because the boys have been saying I just side foot it so they have been telling me to put my foot through it and I managed to do that.”

He will be aiming to maintain his fine form when he joins Nigeria for their 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin and Lesotho, on Tuesday and Sunday, respectively.
