Aribo grabs his first Premier League goal

Super Eagles Midfielder Joe Aribo was on the score sheet as Southampton fought back from two goals down to draw against Leeds United on Saturday.

After starting the campaign with a 4-1 defeat at Tottenham last weekend, the Saints welcome Leeds to the St Mary for the first home game of the season.

Aribo was dropped from starting 11 as coach Ralph Hasenhuttl made three changes to the team that lost to Spurs.

The first-half ended with a goal but the away side however drew the first blood immediately after the restart through Rodrygo.

The Spanish forward then shocked the home side again by making it 2-0 to the visitors twenty minutes later.

Aribo was thrown into the thick of action immediately as he replaced Stuart Armstrong in the 61st minute.

He later halved the deficit when he dribbled a defender inside the box before forcing the ball over the line.

Kyle Walkers-Peters grabbed Southampton’s second with eight minutes left on the clock.

With no further goal coming in the game, both side held on for a point each.
