Aribo scores first Europa League goal of the season for Rangers

Super Eagles midfielder Aribo was among the goalscorers for Rangers in their 4 – 3 win over Royal Antwerp in the Europa League.

Aribo’s goal in the 38th minute came from a Connor Goldson pass which released Kemar Roofe on goal, but goalkeeper Ali Beiranvand charged the player allowing the ball fall kindly for the Nigerian who struck it hard from 35 yards out.

 

The hosts hit back with two goals within seven minutes with Felipe Avenatti scoring the equaliser before Refaelov hammered home a penalty.

 

 

Rangers leveled the scores from the penalty spot in the 59th minute after Ritchie De Laet brought down Alfredo Morelos in the box and Barisic stepped up to score the resulting penalty.

 

The Belgian side regained their lead Seven minutes later, with Hongla getting the best of  Allan McGregor with a fine shot from the edge of the box.

 

Rangers refused to throw in the towel and their tenacity paid off as Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos, scored in the 83rd and 90th minute respectively.

 

Aribo’s compatriot, Leon Balogun was involved in the game as well, he came in as a substitute in the first half.
