Super Eagles and KRC Genk forward, Tolu Arokodare, has his gaze fixed on winning the Pro League title, despite Genk’s recent form.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a standout campaign for Thorsten Fink’s side, scoring 22 goals and providing five assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
His form has not only propelled Genk’s title push but also drawn attention from clubs like Newcastle United and Fulham.
Reports have also linked Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to the Nigerian, though speculation around the Bundesliga giants appears to be overstated.
Despite Arokodare’s individual brilliance, Genk has hit a rough patch, winning just one of their last five matches.
The slip has seen them drop to third on the league table, three points behind leaders Union St. Gilloise with four games left to play but Tolu is not giving up.,
“It feels great, honestly,” Arokodare told Sports Boom when asked about his goalscoring form. “I try not to overthink it my main focus is winning the title. Scoring 20 goals is fantastic, but the aim is to win the top prize with this club.”
On whether he sees himself leaving Genk soon, the former FC Köln and SC Amiens striker didn’t shy away from admitting his Premier League ambitions.
“For the media noise, I just try to stay focused and keep a clear head. The future is unwritten, but like many players, it’s a dream of mine to one day play in the Premier League.”
