Arteta sends out serious warning to Saka, others despite Leeds win

Manager Mikel Arteta has warned Bukayo Saka and the rest of Arsenal squad that they have to suffer win games sometimes.

This is coming after a slim fifth round FA cup win ovef Leeds United at the Emirates stadium on Monday.

Riess Nelson netted a second half goal to hand Arteta’s side a nervy win over Marcelo Bielsa’s side in a game Bukayo Saka came in as a late second half substitute.

Speaking to the media after the game, Arteta said his wards performed below expectation in the first forty-five minutes and revealed what they must do to win tight game as this in the nearest future.

“Now I’m really pleased but we saw two different teams – one in the first 30 minutes, and another after that,” said Arteta.

“I tried to tell them exactly what they were going to face and after 32 minutes we had won one duel, I think. We changed our attitude, desire and organisation at half-time and then we were completely different.”

“Sometimes they have to experience themselves how tough and how hard it is going to be. I watched a lot of Leeds games and they battered every team every three days. It was good for my players to learn and to suffer on the pitch.” He said.

Arsenal will look to continue their impresive start under Arteta when they take on Crystal Palace in the English premier league on Saturday.
