Aruna Quadri crash out of World Table Tennis Global Cup in Singapore

Aruna Quadri missed a golden opportunity to play in the semi-final of the World Table Tennis Global Cup in Singapore, after losing to Hugo Calderon.

 

Aruna Quadri suffered a 3-1 loss to Brazilian, Hugo Calderon in the quarter-finals of the men’s singles at OCBC Arena on Monday.

 

Hugo Calderon who is number 4 in the world took the game 11-6, 6-11,11-8, 11-4.

 

It is the second time Aruna Quadri will reach the quarter-final of a major tournament in the last seven days.

 

The 33-year-old made history by becoming the first African Table Tennis player to reach the quarter Fila of 2021 World Table Tennis Championship in Houston, USA.

 

He lost to Truls Moregard of Sweden in the quarter-final.
