Asaba Stadium ready for AFCON quaifiers, says Sports Minister

The Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare has confirmed that the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba is ready to host the Nigerian Super Eagles’ AFCON qualifiers.

The Minister who was on an inspection tour of the facilities at the Stadium alongside the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick heaped praises on the level of work done on the turf.
”We have plans to host it in Edo State before but because of the Sports Festival, the governor of Delta state was precious enough to support us to host it here.
”I’m glad about what I have seen particularly the pitch, you can see the lushness of the grass this is almost a fifteen thousand capacity stadium, it has hosted so many international games before.
”And the truth is that I have been to another stadium I think this is the busiest I have seen, the pitch, the drainage, and the cover stands are okay, the multimedia, the floodlights, and the scoreboard makes it a complete stadium.
“I think it makes an international standard, it might not be grade A, but I think these is international standard, ” Dare told brila.net.
