ASEC Mimosas made Us Suffer – Eguma

Rivers United Coach Stanley Eguma was full of praise for his team following the victory over ‘difficult’ ASEC Mimosas.

The Nigerian Champions defeated the Ivorian side, Sunday, in their second CAF Confederation Cup group B game, in Uyo.

Speaking at the post match conference, Eguma admitted that Rivers United showed the character to break down difficult ASEC Mimosas.

“It was a good game, the opponents gave us a good game. We knew ASEC are former Champions of this competition and they were always going to be a very tough opponent,” the Rivers United Coach explained.

“They had good spells during the game, even when we scored, they took the ball and played their compact game.”

“But we were able to tame them in the second half and score the other goals. We only care about the goals anyway and not just trying to play to the gallery.”

Following the win, Rivers United move to second on the table and will face Motema Pembe next.
