Ashleigh Plumptre has expressed delight following her campaign with Nigeria the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
It was Plumptre’s first major senior international tournament with the Super Falcons, but unfortunately, the team finished fourth behind South Africa, Morocco and Zambia.
“Thank you for the lessons learnt, experiences had and the opportunity to represent way more than just myself. Morocco, thank you,” Plumptre tweeted, Wednesday.
Proud to have batted alongside a resilient and determined group of women for 5 weeks at my first senior major tournament.
Thank you for the lessons learnt, experiences had and the opportunity to represent way more than just myself.
Morocco, thank you.

The 24 year-old Plumptre, formed a formidable partnership with the Falcons back line of Osinachi Ohale, Onome Ebi and Toni Payne.
She featured in four games out of six games for Nigeria – missing two due to injury – at the WAFCON 2022.
