Asisat Oshoala is in the running for a third straight Africa Women’s player of the year award at the CAF Awards, but the forward has suggested she wouldn’t be bothered much if she doesn’t win.
Falcons teammate Francisca Ordega and South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana are the other players in the shortlist but the latter appears to be the favorite to win after she finished as the top scorer at the 2018 AWCON as well as the player of the tournament.
But Asisat insists such competition is good for Women’s football on the continent because it means no single player will dominate the scene.
