Awoniyi and Ujah out of Union Berlin’s trip to Wolfsburg

Union Berlin manager says Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi is gradually working his way back to full fitness.


Awoniyi has been out with muscle since February and has missed Union Berlin’s last seven league matches in the process.


Urs Fischer also confirmed that Awoniyi and his compatriot, Anthony Ujah are battling with his injury and both strikers will miss the game Saturday game with Wolfsburg.


“Ujah, Awoniyi, Dajaku, Becker, Teuchert. Prömel, Hübner, Busk had muscle issues. Everyone else is available,” Union Berlin coach Urs Fischer told a news conference on Thursday.


“Awoniyi is making progress. Becker going in the right direction. Teuchert also in fitness.” he said.


Awoniyi is on loan at the club from Liverpool, he has scored six goals in all competitions for the Union Berlin.
