Awoniyi delighted to score in first Berlin derby of the season

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi said he is happy to help his club win the first Berlin derby of the season.

 

Awoniyi scored one of the goals as Union Berlin defeated Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

 

The former Liverpool striker has scored 13 goals in 20 matches For Union Berlin this season.

 

“It’s a good feeling to know that we won the first Berlin derby of the season, I think for Union, everyone is important.”

 

The FIFA U17 world cup winner is Union Berlin’s leading scorer this season but added he won’t have problems sacrificing his goals for the team’s success.

 

“It doesn’t matter who scores. For me, I score so that the team can be successful. Once we are successful, I think I’m happy, and I’m glad about that.” He told Bundesliga.com.
