Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been rewarded for his scintillating performance against Chelsea with a place in the Premier League team of the week.

The forward scored two goals as the The Tricky Trees forced Frank Lampard’s side to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

The 26-year-old who scored two headers in first and second half is the only Nottingham Forest’s star in the team.

Awoniyi has been in rich form for the Steve Cooper’s side since returning from a three-month injury lay off, netting four times in three games.

He also became the first Nottingham Forest’s player to score back to back brace in the Premier League since 1995.

Awoniyi has scored eight goals and provided one assist in 25 league appearances this season.
