Awoniyi leaves Union Berlin fans with cheerful news for the Future

Taiwo Awoniyi said his farewell to Union Berlin fans in a social media post, following the completion of his dream move to the Premier League.

On Saturday, the transfer – Awoniyi penned five-year deal – was confirmed and the first pictures of the Forward at his new club were shared online.

The 24 year-old expressed gratitude to the club in a video posted on Union Berlin’s social media handle.

“I’m short of words, I just want to say thank you for everything,” Awoniyi started in his farewell message.

“Maybe we’ll see again, maybe not, but I just want to say thank for everything you did for me.”

“To the coaches, the fans and the whole club,it’s hard to say goodbye, but I know this place will always be my home,” He said.

Awoniyi signed for the Berlin based team in a club record deal from Liverpool last summer, after a loan spell with them the previous season.

He settled quickly and the outcome is his 17 goals contribution in the Bundesliga to help Union Berlin seal a Europa League ticket.

His outstanding performances caught the attention of Premier League new Boys Nottingham Forest, who themselves broke the bank for a club-record deal of £17.5m to sign the Nigerian.

Taiwo Awoniyi’s task in the new Premier League season will be to help Forest retain the topflight status.
