Awoniyi nets his first ever European brace in Union Berlin’s win over KuPs

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi was on target for Union Berlin emphatic 4-0 victory over KuPs FC in UEFA Conference League game on Thursday.

It was his first ever European brace since moving to Europe after the winning FIFA U-17 World Cup for Nigeria back in 2015.

Awoniyi started in Union Berlin’s attack alongside Germany star Max Kruse and they combined well all through the game.

Just like he did in the first Bundesliga game of the 2021-2022 season against Hoffenheim, Taiwo Awoniyi opened scoring for his team in the 7th minute.

The attacker later set up his strike partner Max Kruse to make it 2-0 in the 29th minute, before the former Liverpool man scored his second goal of the game two minutes later.

Andreas Voglsammer scored the last goal of the game, as the match ended 4-0 in favor of Union Berlin.

Union Berlin will go into the second leg at home next week with a massive advantage.
