NNL side Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan have maintained that Abayomi Junior remains a bonafide player of the club, following the reports of his transfer to Kano Pillars.
Earlier reports revealed that the 3SC captain joined the Sai Masu Gida on three years contract, and has since resumed training with the Aiteo Cup holders.
However, the development took another twist as the management of the 3SC insisted Abayomi Junior is still their player.
“We want to state clearly through this medium, that the midfielder is still a bonafide player of 3SC.”
“Even though we are aware of his desire to join Pillars who have also written a letter to us, asking for his services, but there has not been any official negotiation between both teams regarding the issue.
“We are putting the record straight here that Kano Pillars, apart from the letter they wrote, have not had any official engagement with the management of the Oluyole Warriors.
“After receiving the letter in which Kano Pillars declared their interest in the player, some requirements were tabled before them which they have not met up till this moment.
“Shooting Stars are not against his (Ayobami Junior) wish to move, as we are not against the personal dreams and aspiration of any player but we believe things should be done professionally.”
In their reaction to the 3SC claim, Ayobami representatives told reputable journalist, Adepoju Tobi Samuel in another Interview that their client departed the Oluyole Warriors as a free agent, after the expiration of his contract with the club.
“This is a funny report. Like I told you this morning, Ayobami signed for Pillars last week & he has resumed training in Kano. His contract has expired & he is a free player.” the player’s representative said.
